I’ve never really followed National Food Day – I didn’t even know every day is National Food Day! Wow, you totally missed out on my facial expression when I found that out. For all you foodies out there, lucky you! Every day of National Food Day in this week of December is food that I frequently have, the sweet tooth, I know.. You can check out here the full list of what’s in December, I’m warning you, there’s something every day!

December 3: National Peppermint Latte Day

So I’ve never actually tried both peppermint with latte or latte with peppermint. Wait, that’s the same. Silly me. It actually wasn’t easy looking for a place that serves this, besides Starbucks, of course. Starbucks has almost everything lol.

Found this at Outro, NYC

I walked into Outro but was disappointed when I didn’t find peppermint latte on their menu.. usually I won’t/don’t ask much but I really wanted peppermint latte so I asked. To my surprise, the barista said he can make that for me. Wow. Outro, nice one. I like you much more now. And the rest is history, got my pretty flat lay picture, got to finally taste peppermint and coffee and got to share this lovely picture with you guys!

December 4: National Cookie Day

Cookies. Cookies will be the death of me. Cookies will always be the death of me.

Chocolate cookies, strawberry cookies, white chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, double chocolate cookies.

Yes to all!

Well, except for oats and raisins. Not particularly my favorite.

Cookie and coffee, you can’t go wrong

December 5: National Comfort Food Day

“The best comfort food will always be greens, cornbread, and fried chicken.” – Mary Angelou

Ok. This is not true for me. Mine is nowhere near those three.

“I like to say, jazz music is kind of like my musical equivalent of comfort food. You know, it’s always where I go back to when I just want to feel sort of grounded.” – Molly Ringwald

Hmm….. Then I guess Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Video Prime is my “comfort food”. I’ve been pretty obsessed with my TV ever since we bought it, it’s just so amazing. Anyway, since I’m craving for chips now so I shall declare it my CFOTD (comfort food of the day).

I’m actually obsessed with Doritos but decided to try something different, hence, vegetable chips hmm. Nah, will still stay loyal to Doritos 😉

December 6: National Microwave Oven Day

How do I take a picture for Microwave Oven Day?? Well, I can copy and paste pictures or links of microwave ovens. I can’t think of any way to express my love for microwave ovens. Didn’t think of taking a picture of me hugging a microwave oven though, should I do that?

We all know how much a microwave oven can do/does for us. At least I do. And I very much appreciate you, Mr. Microwave Oven. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Everything basically comes out of the microwave before it goes into my stomach.

Okay, hmm. Maybe not breakfast. I’m trying to think of what I have for breakfast that requires the microwave oven…….

Nothing at the moment.

But it definitely saves my life with lunch and dinner. So Ily, Mr Microwave Oven. You’ll forever be mine. At least the one in my kitchen will forever be mine. You can keep yours, it’s definitely useful.

December 7: National Cotton Candy Day

Honestly.. I’m not a cotton candy fan, really. It’s so fluffy and sticky and just hard to eat without getting all your fingers and mouth covered in sugar.

Sip Shop Eat

However,

I managed to find myself a cotton candy machine! What a bummer I didn’t make one for myself when I had the chance to but it’s because I didn’t want to get my fingers all sticky.

Are you a #cottoncandyftw person?

December 8: National Brownie Day

No idea why it’s so hard for me to find brownies too! Am I really going to the wrong cafes?

Third Rail Coffee

Managed to find a last-minute brownie at a cafe just before the end of Brownie Day! Phew.

Do you know anywhere else that has good brownies? Sometimes I really just crave it…

December 9: National Pastry Day

Outro

There are just so many pastries out there – pie, tarts and the most common one on my plate – croissant. Plain croissant, chocolate croissant, almond croissants are the few that I usually order at the counter and the best part is they’re everywhere. Cafes that are all over New York City and in Wholefoods (their chocolate croissant is lovely), supermarkets. Most importantly, as of my 25th year in life, I’m not bored of it. Yet. Maybe I should do a follow-up post 5 years from now, I may be tired of croissants by then.

This sums up the entire week of food days. Prior to this post, I tried a November food day post, which is National French Toast Day that falls on November 28, read it here!

So tell me, should I continue sharing National Food Day posts with you guys?
